TGIF - Abu Dhabi Day Out!

Stress and tired from the previous night, that didn't stop us from going out on a Friday! This was not a typical day off for us, it has usually been all about sleeping! Our routine for Friday is waking up past lunch time, doing the laundry, watching series or movies until we finally get hungry, eat whatever easiest dinner we find and then sleep again!

This was our last planned activity for the month. Usually trips don't happen when you plan so well, gladly this one did! Well there's not much planning needed anyway, just Ate Franlee's availability! She's one of the precious stars in our office, bosses can't get out of work mess without her! This is a free trip by the way, free ride, free brunch, free sight seeing, free experience. Absolutely more fun when it's free!!! HAHAHA!

Marina mall is where you can find the revolving restaurant high above the shore line of Abu Dhabi. It's a five-star restaurant so what would you expect, of course we didn't dine there! LOL.

This was taken at one of the gates of Emirates Palace Hotel where Carrie Bradshaw and the ladies stayed while in Abu Dhabi. Unluckily, we weren't able to get inside and had some Sex and the City inspired photoshoot! Poor us, it's no way for visitors during Fridays!

Our target, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque!
This architectural work of art is one the world’s largest mosques, with a capacity for an astonishing 41,000 worshippers. It features 82 domes, over a 1,000 columns, 24 carat gold gilded chandeliers and the world's largest hand knotted carpet.

Sunset is a good time to visit the place so the heat wont hurt your eyes and you'll love the beautiful view outside. It looked like huge marsh mallows!

Women are required to wear a traditional robe (abaya) and headscarf (shayla) before entering the mosque. We look like volturis from Twilight!

There are lot more photos we had because of the stunning view. The reflective pool that surrounds the mosque made it a very good site for a photoshoot! This is a must visit place in Abu Dhabi everyone should see and take note, the entrance is free of charge! TGIF!

  2. Been there a few times too(Dubai and Abu Dhabi and Doha, Qatar) I love it there. Not the Middle East that comes to mind for most. Such a fun place to see and so much to do. Great photos/FB page.
